Flame Start System is usually adopted in Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles where high heat output is required for cold starting and where the longer electrical heating is not possible. As the name suggests a part of the fuel is pumped into the glow plug through a special system and is ignited by an electrically heated coil due to which a flame is created. The inlet air is heated while passing through the manifold, already heated due to the Flame Glow Plug. The whole system comprises of a Flame Glow Plug, an Electronic Control Unit, Solenoid Valve, Temperature Sensor, Lamp indicator and connecting wires. The Flame Start System is available to suit 12V and 24V Electrical Systems.
