DI engines in Indian conditions traditionally did not require any Heating Aid. However with stricter emission norms coming into act in India and while running of these engines in Colder conditions, it has become necessary to utilize Heating Aids. BERU has developed some unique solutions to address this customer requirement like:

     Grid Heaters
     Spiral Heater Plugs
     Flame Start Systems

The Spiral Glow Plugs are usually fitted in small and medium DI engines in the intake manifold. The open spiral heats up electrically to almost 1150°C to generate about 400-600W of Heat Output in approx. 30 seconds. The Spiral Heater Plugs are suitable for operating conditions of -55°C to 150°C and are available for 12V as well as 24V Systems. Usually a Timer is used in conjunction with a Spiral Glow Plug to control the Heating time.
